The birth of Fashion Roast

Fashion is funny business. A serious business for many. But for me a business that too many people take way too seriously.

Now let's get this straight. I do like my fashion and do take pride in trying to look decent every time I leave the house but I also think a lot of people are getting so serious with their latest threads that they step out of the house in an outfit that makes them look more like a three year old has inspired their daily catwalk with a bunch of crayolas than being painted with the brush stroke of Gianni Versace.

This blog is about my take on male fashion. I am a pretty blokey Aussie guy who lives in the inner south eastern suburbs of Melbourne who occasionally gets carried away and buys a lot of clothes. It's not something I do often but when I do it usually involves departing with a lot of cash and only a few items.

Working on the doorstep of the city's fashion iconic Chapel and Greville streets, I am inspired, intrigued and astounded by what gents are wearing on a daily basis. And this is what I intend to showcase in this blog. The good, the bad and the outright ridiculous! I don't take myself seriously and neither will this blog. I intend to post photos of the guys around here in their daily outfits before giving them a fashion boast or a fashion roast...

Now let me open the account with a beauty. A really nice guy but someone who could have thought harder when he got out of bed. Dude. Dude. Maaaaate. SERIOUSLY. I'm not even thinking crayolas here, I'm thinking photoshop! This is a big big FASHION ROAST, I don't even feel like I need to explain myself here.

Hahaha! I use this expression one too many times whenever I catch a lunch/ coffee break with my colleagues on Chapel St, trying to spot fashion trends. We often return to office with an empty notepad and nothing (good) to report back to my director.

Good stuff! Are you considering getting readers submit pictures for you to roast or boast? Can't wait to see which poor Melbourne guy suffers the roast next (or he might be a dapper. Who knows?)

    Cheers!
